OP Wine Bar is the newest addition to Osteria Pronto’s modern take on Italian cuisine. Located on Second Street in the heart of downtown Austin, our 14-seat bar with additional cocktail table seating draws its inspiration from the traditional Italian cicchetti bars or osteries of Venice, Italy. If looking for an afternoon snack or a place to relax after a busy day, stop by for a glass of wine and an antipasto plate with friends or coworkers. OP Wine Bar has a specialty-crafted menu with shareable plates that cater to social gatherings. We also have experienced bartenders that can help pick out a delightful wine flight to pair perfectly with every meal.
Flight of Wines
Carefully crafted, our wine flights give a taste of four different wines to compare.
A Taste of Italy offers two white wines and two red wines from various regions in Italy.
Under the Tuscan Sun is a selection of four red wines from the Tuscany region which features the Sangiovese grape.
Whites from North to South is designed to take you on a journey through 4 regions of Italy where these white grapes are exclusively grown.
The wine menu offers single glasses of sparkling wines, such as Prosecco, Brut, and Rosato. These are the champagnes of Italy because only wine made from grapes in the Champagne region of France can be labeled as such. These wines are ideal choices when looking for something bubbly or celebrating a special occasion. Other familiar wines that we have in stock are pinot grigio and chardonnay. Ask the server to give ideas about which antipasto platters fit with a wine flight. By customizing the meat and cheese board with a selection of drinks, the delicate notes of the wine will enhance the taste of the food. If not a wine drinker, enjoy Italian cocktails made from local and imported Italian liqueurs. One favorite is the Menta Limone, which is made from Italian Caravella limoncello, Texas’ Dripping Springs gin, and a touch of fresh mint.
Chef Gilberto Ramirez
