Local Partnerships with JW Marriott Austin

JW Marriott Austin Community Partners

Throughout the year, we’ve partnered with some incredible local and non-profit organizations. See how you can get involved with the community or join the JW team.

In support of local Austin filmmakers, JW Marriott Austin recently partnered with the Austin Film Society to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the cult classic, Dazed and Confused.

Directed by Austin Film Society founder Richard Linklater, this iconic film hit the big screen in 1993; each summer, generations of fans gather to enjoy anniversary screenings and movie-themed events.

Annually, AFS screens hundreds of international and independent films at AFS Cinema. The art house theater is located just outside downtown near the vibrant North Loop neighborhood.

Learn more about the AFS and their “vision to make Austin-and Texas-synonymous with great film.”

On Veterans Day weekend 2018, the JW Marriott Austin, in partnership with Ranger Cattle, featured a special Veterans Day menu at each of our onsite restaurants. For each item ordered, we donated 15% of the revenue to the Elk Institute.

OP Italian, Corner, Burger Bar, Edge and the JW Lobby Bar in downtown Austin participated in the 2018 Austin Restaurant Weeks. We created special menus, specialty cocktails, and are excited to participate in the future.

Austin Restaurant Weeks is an annual event that celebrates fine dining at an affordable price, while benefitting the Central Texas Food Bank in their fight against hunger in Central Texas.

Join us in 2019 to give back and enjoy good food.

2018 marks the organization’s sixth year of empowering youth through food. Through hands-on programs with local partners, Fresh Chef Society creates experiences that help enrich the lives of children in foster care.

To celebrate and showcase the Apprentice Program at Fresh Chef Society, JW Marriott Austin hosted a dinner where supporters and apprentice guests enjoyed an eclectic buffet experience.

Each apprentice had hands on experiences with our chefs, learned everything from salads to pastry to sauté and prep. This gives children an opportunity to create something for themselves and a potential career path. Our chefs are happy to give back to a younger generation of chefs.
